Kinda got interested with an early 2000 USMC loadouts. Also Woodland is probably my 2nd favorite gear camo. Now I want to see what Scout Snipers wore, any suggestions (2000-05ish)?

FSBE I AAV (not finished) Needs two or three pistol mag pouches.

IBA + FLC + Camelbak (debating on canteen pouches or camelbak)
-PPM will be switched

The beauty of getting selected for a Scout/Sniper unit is that you can wear whatever works best for the job. Depending on the mission you're going to be doing, a S/S will have different load-outs. However, you can't go wrong with Woodland cammies and a Y-harness with pistol belt, canteens, ass pack, magazine/GP pouches, and an ALICE pack.

Don't forget the boonie and face-paint.

That is, of course, if you aren't going with the timeless yeti suit.

Dont forget a finishing touch: single bullet hole in the boonie hat, right in the middle of forehead. Present from Soviet sniper. Whoooohaaaaahaaaaaaa (demonic laughter)

Cisco! Man, I love watching your FFL kit progress. Makes me want to put one together every time. One thing that ruins it for me in your poses is that damn sticker on the receiver. Otherwise, looking great!

When the French wear body armor, do they wear any vest or LBVs over it? I don't see any pouches for essentials on the armor.

Here's an impression I've been meaning to share.
Central Asian Mujihadeen: Afghanistan, possibly Northern Pakistan, armed with scavenged Soviet made arms, and PRC supplies.

(These pictures are from a game this Summer in NH, we were portraying locals of a Afghanistan-like country)

(trying an alternative, for cooler weather)

Kit List:
Pakul (Afghan hat, that I'm not wearing correctly)
Kamez (the long shirt outfit)
Chicom
Old black boots
2 weeks of facial hair growth
Old blanket converted to prayer rug (doing evening prayer before heading out to patrol)
Shemagh, for general use
Vesh-Meshok, used to carry extra ammo, rations (dried fruit in this case), prayer mat, and that day a NV scope
Soviet soldier belt (under long shirt) w/ AKM v2 Bayonet, and other essentials clipped on to the belt
AKS74N w/ GP30, taped on mini flashlight (was experimenting a night kit before Op: Lightning Strike, Muj would be more likely to have a plainer gun set up), recoil pad, and PSO (its like the most uber-Delta of all Muj guns!)

Cool Weather Alternative:
(this outfit is actually so baggy/roomy, you can wear sweats and other clothes under it to stay warm, but I also tried going for a more traditional layering)
Sweater vest (found this in my closet with other handy-downs)
Old blazer (not pictured)
AKS47

So if there is going to be a modern themed central Asian game needing Muj, I'm ready. There were a handful of other players up in NH that also had decent kits for the same impression.

Soviet DShB (or maybe Kaskad): In Afghan garrison, late '80s

Kit List:
KLMK oversuits
Ushanka (me)
Kepi, Afghan (Donnie)
MOCKBA (knock off Addidas, me)
Laced boots (Donnie)
Chicoms (mine double stuffed Soviet style, Donnies w/ RPK74 mags)
AKS74UNs
Mustache
Partupeya & officer belt (should have done with out the partupeya)

Russian VV MVD: In Dagestan, Southern Russia, I think Spetsnaz: Rus look like this.

Kit List:
Gorka-e
M23 Pioneer (in Les pattern)
VOG pouch (in Les pattern), used as a utility pouch since I wasn't using a 40mm
OD bandana
Mustache
AKMS w/ PBS1 (suppressor)
AKM v2 bayonet
squad radio w/ headset
Officer belt (holds holster and the VOG pouch)
VP70 (as a stand-in for a Gyrza pistol)

These are some of the impressions I have thrown together over 2009.

Spank you should let your head touch the ground...LOL. I have seen some pics of the french wearing LBVs over their armor on A-stan but that was with the molle vest/armor.

@ Cisco,
my head did touch the ground, I was a full kneel, but camera guy was taking forever and ended up taking a picture when I was already getting up, catching me in a unflattering pose.

So the French regularly only need one mag? FFL is that bad ass, when they have body armor, they don't even need spare mags, just that unstoppable.

@ Corey,
I think I was actually supposed to have no boots on at all. Parabellum would know more about the pre-battle ritual. I believe feet and hands were supposed to be washed. But those boots are a real pain to put on and off, so they stayed on. And I don't think the bottom of my shoe was actually facing anyone. IF it was, it was towards Sammo. And only saying IF because I don't remember where he was in relation to that picture.

U.S. Soldiers are required to keep their boots on, during the meetings and dinners they just have to have soles of their boots either in the dirt or put behind them. Even showing them from either party is a sign of disrespect doesn't mater if they are facing anyone or not. :) And yes their suppose to have there annual bathing so they dont smell to horrible..

Spank, LOL the french really one mag cause they fire one round then retreats! But on a serious note, they wear their LBVs over their Molle vest/armor. Cause the Ballistic armor they have like the on I have doesn't have that much attachment points besides the belt. Plus it limits your movement if you have SAPI plate and another layer of armor in it. Imagine you're like robocop.

I need to redo my Muj picture session anyway, my 'failed souffle' style pakul is an eyesore. I'll put more effort into the next session. If only it were to happen. That photo session was kind of improv as we had time to kill before deployment.

You know, I'd love to do a Robocop impression. Been wanting to get an Auto9 ever since I saw there was an airsoft version. There are toy helmets available, but getting the rest of the OCP armor would cost about as much as it cost Alex Murphy to get his.
