Copied the link from a teammate's post. It's a rifle manufactured locally by UDMC based on the M4 platform. UDMC's PVAR rifle, which the NAVSOG recently adopted. United Defense Manufacturing Corporation is a locally licensed arms manufacturer (www.udmc-weapons.com) which recently supplied their rifles to the PN NAVSOG. vid link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JqZwBRNDic

That's pretty impressive. I can't believe they actually fired it submerged. I would not get into an argument with that woman. :)

That was pretty sweet! Rare finding a weapon to operate being submerged like that, I wonder how it would fair in a sand, mud and dirt?

Found another video of the NAVSOG test on the PVAR, funny that in the video they put sand on the foregrip where their pneumatic valve and rod system is located and then the marine just started blasting away, he he he. Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYUQBaHPB7g&NR=1I'm itching to get my hands on a unit, hopefully I can test fire one if I can get my tatay to visit his friends in the PN, he he he.

Don't the HK 416 & Bushmaster ACR fire after being submerged in water as well?

I've seen a video of the HK 416 submerged in water and shot right after but the PVAR was shot while submerged. The first time I saw the video I actually cringed at the thought of the gun exploding. Would have been great if they could have shot a closeup of the PVAR being fired underwater. From the video it seemed that the gun was submerged up to the ejection port while being fired.

Wow, saw the video and that Colt exploding was really scary! What I found weird was from the way the video was shot, he/they already knew what was going to happen with the Colt. Judging from the type of headgear he was hearing he knew the Colt was going to explode compared to just wearing protective eye cover when firing the 416.

Yeah I am pretty sure it was not the first time they were shooting the colt submerged. They made preparation for it to ensure operator safety, I would think, and shooting it with an operator firing makes it look more intense. Still, quite a thing to watch. Most professional [as in, paid for] videos had to plan and shoot, often many takes, so it's not often something "surprising" happens on a promo video, at least not surprising to the staff involved.

PVAR is just a AR with a PISTON CONVERSION kit. You can get 1 from adams arms, bushmaster, opsfrey and more. They can be installed to any AR/M16/m4. This is a site dedicated to piston AR's .. http://www.ar15.com/forums/forum.html?b=3&f=126
